Senior Manager, Executive Communications

Reports to: Vice President of Communications

Location: Remote

Hours: Full-time

Overview of the role

The Senior Manager of Executive Communications is an exciting new role that will continue to position our CEO & Executive Director as a leader in LGBTQ mental health and suicide prevention. The role will lead executive communications strategy and execution, overseeing the CEO’s speaking engagements, awards and accolades submissions, social media presence, and support media relations. The Senior Manager will report to the Vice President of Communications, and will collaborate directly with the Office of the CEO and the Growth team to highlight the organization’s life-saving work. This role is ideal for a communications professional who is a critical thinker, highly organized, a strong writer with a sharp eye for editing, social media, and passionate about serving LGBTQ youth.

What you’ll do

  • Bring professional experience supporting our CEO with 360-degree communications strategies, including internal and external communications
  • Media relations with a focus on elevating our CEO’s profile, including the creation of a CEO media strategy, timely public statements, impactful op-eds, and more
  • Manage our CEO’s social media presence, including draft messaging, timely posting, and channel growth 
  • Monitor real-time trends in mental health, LGBTQ youth, suicide prevention, and more to offer timely expert commentary from CEO in press and social media channels 
  • Raise the organization’s profile via strategic speaking engagement and accolade opportunities relevant to our CEO 
  • Draft speeches and scripts, as well as talking points and briefing materials for conferences, panels, and interviews
  • Work closely with the Communications team and CEO to draft key communications to our internal audiences
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Campaign teams to identify relevant opportunities in owned marketing campaigns that promote the health and well-being of LGBTQ young people
  • Manage executive communications requests from corporate partners and vendors, including publicity, corporate speaking engagements, and blog posts 
  • Help manage agency partners to raise the public profile of our CEO & Executive Director
  • Work alongside our VP of Communications to ensure internal and external communications adhere to style guide
